Part Of My Life So Far

Greetings, everyone. So far in my life good things have happened as well as bad. Pretty normal, right? Well, my story is quite different than most.

I'm a 22 year old male who went legally blind at the age of 11. I attended public school for a couple years after the accident that had caused my blindness (a story for another time). When my school had held me back a year for not being able to read my NWEA test, that's when I thought "Fuck it. Let's check out the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired." I had gone to ISBVI for one week a month the last year I was at my public school. The experience had gone fairly well so I decided to go to ISBVI full time, since they'd be more equipped to accommodate me and my needs. For my experiences at ISBVI, I will go into further detail another time.

I'm an adult now with no current job, living in Indy with my male roommate from ISBVI. I have a girlfriend (very beautiful), twin brother (generous as hell), roommate (practically my brother), and plenty of other people that I talk to every so often. Those three are really the ones that I communicate with the most though. In total, let's say a year, I talk to dozens of people. About 70% of those I talk to several times a year; the 30% are just people I need to talk to to get something done at some sort of event, building, other location, etc. I don't think that's too bad. I do think, however, that I will need to start talking to more people, especially since I am an ordained minister.

Now, this was a personal choice so that I could officiate familial and friendly weddings, or funerals if I needed to. I got ordained online Feb. 19th, 2020. Before it's asked, no I am not particularly religious in the slightest. I now want to use my title of "Minister" to officiate anyone's weddings, funerals, or even wedding counseling. I am still very, very new to all of it and haven't done much with my new title. But, Nov. 13th, 2021, I will be officiating my aunt's wedding! I am so thankful for the opportunity to share this experience with them, and especially to be the one who marries them! I think I am ready for her wedding. I think I am fully capable of officiating it just as well as anyone else... or, at least, I hope.

Thank you to anyone who read all of that. I will make updates sporadically throughout time, so, please, give me a bit of a break on posts.
